Dear Friends
On this freezing Johannesburg day, freezing being relative to us at 11′ degrees after it was 24′ degrees yesterday. I can’t help to think of where we are as Managers, Leaders, CEO’s and Business Owners. We thought the world changed in 2008, but we in my view covered it up very well. In 2020 nobody (well excepting Bill Gates) could predict that the world as we know it will change forever with covert 19′. Just visit Linked-in and see how many people are ‘ Ready to Work’.
I have as I call it been a corporate boy, my whole life, working for major multinationals in Southern Africa and the Middle East. As employee’s we do not realize how protected and kind of secure we are/were. The business owners reading this will be laughing as being a business owner takes broad shoulders and sheer determination, weathering any storm. Business across the world is facing the biggest storm ever as many business have been closed for months and might never open again.
I have been back in South Africa for 3 month’s starting my own businesses and collaborating with existing businesses across the world. It has taken me 3 months to make mental shift from corporate thinking to pure business trader. Many others and I have been conditioned by corporate business for many years. Working for yourself is completely different and you have to remove your blinkers and explore every opportunity. My view is that many Business Managers will become Business Owners due to the current environment. You are not alone, keep building your networks and be open to explore any opportunity.
